I still say there has got to be a mint to be made in a app for your cell phone to make it work as a mouse for your computer!!!

That's certainly an interesting idea. I did a bit of research and stubmled across this:

Looks like someone beat us to it! Have fun with it though :)

I must talk too much in my sleep - Someone always seems to beat me to production with my "great ideas".........

Where/what app do you get/use to have adobe flash on an iPad?  yes asking for mom who received one for Christmas from her dear husband........

Ahh darn it.... Well you will get 'em next time!

As for flash on Apple/iOS products:
Unfortunately without jailbreaking the device there is no way to get flash on it. That being said, a lot of flash content, such as YouTube has been updated to comply with apples format and will actually work great on your device.

Is their something in particular she can't get to that she would like on the iPad?

Her EMR - electronic med records..............  it was suggested that she get that service....  can't thin of it now, when she got her smart phone to make it work there...  However she was under the impression form Practice Fusion - the EMR they use, that it was compatible with iPads...  I guess this is one reason I'm not sold on the whole tablet stuff - as they are "apps" and not programs.............

Darrin is also chomping to get a laptop. I'm fully thinking a re-furb model....  I'm being a tight wad @ the moment!  He's too scarred to use mine to travel with.  PS LOVE the cooler unit!!!

PracticeFusion is actually the app we recommended to Lisa many years ago, so I'm somewhat familiar with it. Here's how they handle iPad connectivity right now: http://www.practicefusion.com/pages/pr/logmein-emr-ipad-application.html (http://www.practicefusion.com/pages/pr/logmein-emr-ipad-application.html)

Essentially, they are having you login remotely to one of their web servers and from that point the system is accessible. I suspect that in the coming time period they WILL release a full fledged iOS app, but right now this in their "quick, cheap" solution to the demand for iPad / iOS support. This should get it working though!

I'll check and see what we have for refurbs. Do you know if Darrin would want Windows XP or Windows 7 (or not care either way?)

he's wanting it to show the Market America stuff - he seems mostly concerned with a big screen - could add comments, but will refrain from such............  So it will be primarily for internet access.  Someone @ MPA - maybe you- talked to him about one that doesn't really have memory - but it would be the same cost of a new full laptop.  and, how soon do you feel prices will drop?  We have talked about how high technology prices are currently...........

I had a great chat with Darrin last Saturday and we found him a laptop. Hope it's working out well thus far!

As for prices coming down (mainly hard drives), unfortunately I don't expect it to happen for 6 months - 1 year. I actually expect that we'll start seeing a drop in hard drive prices as the prices for SSD's continue to fall. So what will wind up happening is hard drives will slowly be phased out as SSD's continue to rise in popularity and lower in price.

    We're not there yet....but soon! :)
